when two vowels go walkin'...

livia had her first "first grade musical" last monday. The musical was entitled, "Rockin' A to Z", and each child had a special part of the production. Livia was selected to sing a solo in the song, "When Two Vowels Go Walking". We were so proud! Way to go, sweetie!

gymnasts are better balanced...

the girls started spring gymnastics last week . They will be participating in classes for the next 6 weeks. Sophia's session is first for 30 minutes, and Livia follows her class for another 45 minutes. Both girls were ecstatic about having gymnastics again! Even Livia was sore the next day, since she hadn't had lessons for a whole year. I know having these types of experiences will make for well-rounded and "balanced" little girls... our girls....
ready for gymnastics!

sophia was excited to find out that 2 of her daycare friends - audrianna and amelia - were also in her gymnastics class!

a PINTERESTing spring break...part 1

we have been having a great start to our spring break! The first time EVER, Bobby was able to take off the whole week to spend with us AND the weather is actually slated to be SPRINGlike - can you believe it?

Since I have newly formed an addiction to Pinterest, I thought it only fitting to infuse some of my new "pins" into our Spring Break. Here are a few pictures from our spring break (so far)...at the end of the week I will post the before and after pictures of our kitchen island. As we speak I am working on changing the look of our island - another Pinterest idea. Good or bad? to be continued....finally back on our bikes...sophia is riding her christmas gift from santa

livia said, "this is easy! i remember how to ride my bike!"

we tried "banana boats" for the first time...bananas stuffed with marshmallows, caramel chips, chocolate chips, and graham crackerswe put them in the oven wrapped in tin-foil(don't let the black outside peels fool you - that is the color they change when they are in the oven)

we made "brownie bites"...brownie mix placed in mini-muffin tins with rolos in the center- yummy!

we also tried some new variations of s'mores (after we grilled out for supper)...graham crackers with nutella, a peppermint patty, and warm marshmallows

OR

graham crackers with peanut butter, a peanut butter cup, and warm marshmallow

what a DeLiCiOuS start to our spring break!

to be continued...
