spring has sprung...

spring: it is difficult to believe that is was 80 degrees on Monday looking outside the window today. However, I enjoy rainy days from time to time. I revel in these types of days because they are not as demanding as sunny days. We can lounge around the house in our p.j.s all day! We were even able to get some projects done around the house today. My parents came over to help us with some of our windows. Bobby and I have decided to sell our house soon, so we have been trying to get it ready to put on the market. Any suggestions for us "newbies" to the real estate market?
palm sunday: we went to church this evening for Palm sunday mass - I guess it should be called Palm Saturday for us early-comers. Livi was great considering the long gospel reading, which we are invited to stand for. Being that we got placed at the front of the church, we all felt a little obligated to stand. Livi was even sporting some spring attire. We are all excited for spring, especially Copper. Everytime I go for my workout shoes he is right beside me looking up with an expression that reads, "Is it time for a walk?" Lately, our resident Easter bunny has been seen grazing in our back yard, and the robins have been enjoying the water puddles and worms. Ah, spring has definitely sprung!

the withers' wellies...

wellies: livia and i are excited about our new wellies. Livi especially enjoys wearing her boots because they have kittys on them. It has been rainy and foggy all day so we decided to wear our wellies leaving the house. In the picture Livi is trying to zip up her coat. Of course, she took the time to say "cheese" when mom got out the camera. It sounds like nice weather is headed our way for the end of the week and weekend. Too bad for Livi and me- we like wearing our Withers wellies...
spring break: Nothing really new in Dassel. I am on spring break this week with a cold. It doesn't bother me so much, because I am on VACATION! It may not be Florida or Cancun, but it is a break. Livi has a cough and I have a cold. Bobby is doing well, but I suspect he will be getting the bug soon. My mom always says to stop "sucking face" so he doesn't catch what I have. He should be so lucky!
Happy Spring! :)

a head full of hair and a mouth full of teeth...

teeth: this past week was quite uncomfortable for everyone in the Withers family. On Sunday evening Livia's temp. was 104! This was very frightening for Bobby and me. Livi has never had a fever above 101, so you can imagine our fright when it started to rise from 101 in the afternoon to 104 in the late evening. We called the ER and checked on what the next step should be for us. They were not too concerned as long as she was not sick otherwise. Bobby and I took her in to the doctor on Monday morning. The doctor suggested that they take a blood sample, a urine sample (that was pretty interesting with a daughter that is not yet potty trained), a throat culture, and a check exam. To our amazement they found nothing, except for an elevated white blood count. Livi was a trooper through it all. Bobby and I repeatedly told her she was doing great and that she was a "good girl". She even repeated it back to us as she was getting her chest x-ray.

one week later: here we are one week later and it seems Livi is on the mend. As you can see in the picture, she looks all smiles. We came to the conclusion that it must have been teeth that caused all the commotion. Livia is still not eating as much as we would like, but that is the worst of it. If only I had that problem...

sweet dreams...

sweet dreams: this is a picture of Livi in her new pajamas. It is hard to believe that she is able to wear them. My mom purchased these pajamas for Livi when she was only 3 months old. I remember putting them away, thinking she would never be big enough to fit into them. Just the other night, we pulled them out of the back of her closet and tried them on. It was love at first sight! Livi pulled off her "jammies" and put on her new Pooh pajamas. She twirls in them, which means she feels pretty. Bobby and I cannot believe what a little lady she has become. We always get a little misty-eyed when we realize she isn't our baby anymore...
