fun on the fourth...

happy fourth of july!
the girls started their day with some red, white, and blue pancakes (thanks, daddy!). It was a great way to start our day before heading to Elk River for some fun on the fourth of July.

showing off their patriotism with some super, cool shades!
 elana, kaytlin, sophia, and livia
it was HOT so we spent most of our time outside in the water...
sun-bathing as our sunscreen "dries"...it was pretty humid, so nothing was completely dry that day!

time to cool off in the pool...

 pinata time!

in the end we couldn't keep the pinata up, so each of the girls WHACKED at the pinata until the candy burst out!
lots of FUN ON THE FOURTH!!

splish, splash...

the withers and the woods family headed over to gaylord today for some family fun in the sun. We tried out the "Gaylord Aquatic Center" and it was AWESOME! The girls loved all the water slides, the climbing wall, the multiple diving boards, and of course, THE WATER! It was a treat to have such a beautiful day to spend with my parents and our family. We were also able to take one more pin off of our summer bucket and add it to the middle...thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!
 our bathing beauties...

sophia's favorite slide - at the top of the fish slide

 having some fun with grandpa
trying out the smaller diving board
my brave girl jumping off the tall diving board
 climbing wall...how cool is that?
a little rest after so much fun!

anniversary getaway...

For the past 2 months, bobby had been secretly planning our 10th wedding anniversary trip. Every time I inquired about our anniversary he would say, "Don't worry about it. I've got it planned all out!" As always, I LOVE surprises and could not wait until June 22nd. Bright and early in the morning both of us awoke (well before the girls...if that tells you how excited we were), and Bobby presented me with a card and gift. Inside the card there was a beautiful note and details telling about our special trip. Unbeknownst to me, Bobby had made plans to go to Duluth and stay where we had on our first anniversary- but as many of you know, the recent flooding caused Bobby to alter our plans. Here are our photos from our memorable trip...
the st. croix inn - bed and breakfast
originally built in 1908
nestled in the town of osceola, wisconsin next to the st. croix river

 taylors falls
our room - the stillwater suite
flowers from bobby with a surprise wine tour and tasting at the chateux st. croix

the view from our balcony...if you look REALLY close, you will see two canoes paddling down the
 st. croix river
dinner at greccos in st. croix falls...SPECTACULAR bread and delicious food!

 sunset on our balcony
breakfast served in our room - 1st course
 main course...lovely!
the wine tasting did not begin until 11am (go figure!),
so we stopped off at the "fawn-doe-rosa" for some fun!

 baby skunks...too cute for words!
 time for some wine!
beautiful place modeled after a castle in europe
we tasted a $55 bottle of wine and it.was.to.die.for!
now i get why so many people buy expensive wine...
welcome back to minnesota! It was a relaxing, romantic, and fun trip. It was so much fun doing whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted.
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, who is not only fun to be with, but also makes me fall in love with him more every day I am with him. Thanks for the adventure, honey...I can't wait for more!

joyful noise...

we attended the "joyful noise" family fest in blaine yesterday (coutesy of the sederholm family - thank you!). It was a HOT, but amazing day! There was so much to do and see. The girls did a great job, and the adults didn't do too bad either (we were getting tired of standing in lines at the end...along with the sweltering heat). Here are some pictures from our fabulous day with the Sederholm Family.
kaytlin, livia, elana, and sophia ready for some fun on the inflatables
 elana

trying their hand at fishing...no luck for the withers family!

this was our view from our blanket and chairs...
kaytlin and sophia (sophia ended up LOVING this slide the best!)

we ended the day waiting and waiting and WAITING in line to go on the bungee jump. Livia was SO happy to do it! It was worth it...
